Here's the front page of Nadrossia (the community-political newspaper of the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi district, founded April 1921), issue №35 (12619), 27 August 2026:
Thousands of kilometres – for Ukraine's sake.
True friendship knows no borders. It is measured not in words and protocols but in concrete deeds – the kind that today save lives, help communities and bring our victory closer.
That is exactly what the partnership between Korsun volunteers and the Norwegian charitable foundation Ukraine Frontline Emergency Aid is, and it has now lasted more than two years. The latest visit by the Norwegian volunteers was one more proof of how far human compassion can reach. This time no fewer than eleven Norwegians came to Korsun. They covered thousands of kilometres so that here, in Ukraine, through the NGO "Shevchenkivskyi Krai", they could direct help to those who need it most right now.
Five ambulances, a water tanker and a fire truck stood on Korsun's central square from the morning of 20 August. Together with the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy District Military Administration Valerii Yanenko and the head of the NGO "Shevchenkivskyi Krai" Oleh Kasianenko, acting mayor Vitalii Mashok handed the vehicles over to representatives of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after General Marko Bezruchko, the "Azov" special-purpose brigade, the Lyman city community and the municipal enterprise "VZh REU". Some of the remaining vehicles will shortly go to the 32nd Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces and the 155th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv.
This equipment will not sit idle. It will serve where it is needed most today: at the front, in communities, and in settlements from which civilians are being evacuated. The authorities and the 110th Brigade presented the Norwegian volunteers with certificates of gratitude for their powerful contribution to Ukraine's struggle.
Another significant charitable effort by the Norwegian volunteers also deserves mention – supplying Ukrainian servicemen. Of the 100,000 planned, around 20,000 have already been delivered (the item itself isn't legible in the photo). Last year alone the foundation delivered 230 tonnes of humanitarian aid to communities: medical equipment, clothing, vehicles and more.
Just as important, the international aid coming to Ukraine is not only about goods. It is support and a loud signal that we are not alone – that thousands of kilometres away there are people who see our struggle, understand its cost and are ready to act. So we have reinforcement for our communities and, above all, for Ukraine's Defence Forces. — Olena Marchuk ... Se merSe mindre
Ukraine Frontline Emergency Aid delivered five ambulances, a water truck, and a fire engine to Korsun-Shevchenkivska this week. The vehicles will be distributed where the need is greatest: some staying locally to strengthen emergency services, others going to frontline communities.
This is part of a larger partnership. In 2025 alone, UFEA has delivered 230 tonnes of humanitarian aid to our community. They've also provided nearly 20,000 of the 100,000 fire extinguishers they committed to sending to Ukrainian defenders.
The pattern is clear: Norwegian partners are committed to supporting Ukrainian communities and those protecting them. The vehicles and equipment keep coming because the need keeps being met with action. ... Se merSe mindre
